ACCOMMODATIONS IN A
MEDIEVAL VILLAGE

The village of Saignon keeps its ancient secrets

******
****Welcome to Saignon, an intimate village perched high on a rocky promontory in the legendary Luberon, heart of Provence.  Off the tourist track—“still undiscovered” as one guide says.  The gorgeous natural and architectural scenery surrounding us, preserved as a regional park, attracts enthusiasts from around the world: the hikers, bikers and climbers; the photographers, painters and writers; the historians, connoisseurs and gourmets; and the occasional celebrity in hiding.
******

****What will bring you?  Will you come for peace, inspiration or adventure?  To find new directions in art or life?  Or to celebrate an occasion in an extraordinary way.  Saignon opens up to seekers, and we’re here to point the way.

****Your base will be La Maison des Remparts, an historic building on the picturesque Place de L’Horloge, once part of the ramparts of the medieval village. The building still retains the chemin de ronde -- a covered walkway where medieval soldiers made their rounds -- as well as vestiges of the old signal tower. Underground is a fascinating network of ancient vaulted stone cellars, which now house our art gallery and event space.

****La Maison des Remparts offers you your choice of a charming double bedroom with bath, a studio apartment with fireplace and kitchenette, or one of two spacious suites for up to 7 people. In the midst of all the antiquity, you’ll find such contemporary comforts as heavenly-scented natural bath products; hairdryers, electric coffee makers, CD and DVD players, and wireless internet access.
