As a young American in Paris, Gustaf Sobin met the French poet René Char, whom he greatly admired. "If you love my poetry, you must visit Provence,” said Char, “because my poetry comes out of the earth, the land and the light." Mr. Sobin went south and found the sense of place that inspired more than a dozen books of poetry, four novels, and two compilations of essays—‘Luminous Debris” and “Ladder of Shadows”, rich in treasures he unearthed from his adopted land.
Why go abroad for a creative experience? Because stepping into a different sensory world brings out the passion and artistry that were always inside you. What you hear and see, what you taste and smell—it all adds rich colors to your personal picture of the world and encourages you to live life the way you always promised yourself you would someday, when you had the time.
Join us for a writers' retreat in Provence this season and surprise yourself with what you can do and accomplish with a little time to yourself and a lot of personal support.
